My First Blog. 1 September 2022
It’s certainly been some time since I kept a journal. In fact, not since high school.
Although I use English every day, and practice creative writing all the time, it feels very foreign.
For most of my real estate career I have worked with others, in partnership. Some more closely than others, but I have always had someone with me, Whilst I was working in Blairgowrie the last 3 years or so I was on my own; a solitaire. More recently I teamed up with a partner in Craighall and Craighall Park. Within the course of our day, with clients and viewings and general activity, we would echange experiences, and at some point, she suggested writing a book. Now this is not the first time an agent or even one of my partners has suggested it, and it occurred to me that it is a fine idea. However the brief anecdotes we pass to each other are not really detailed enough or have enough substance to warrant writing a chapter of a book. Also, I have some concerns that my clients may even recognize the stories and take offence or worse legal action. Most of the stories are relatively harmless (at least in my eyes), but people can be funny sometimes and often surprise me with what upsets them.
So rather than a full fledged book, I have decided to write brief blogs, from time to time, as I am reminded of silly things that have happened in the past. I might even be able to draw some sort of wisdom from them. Lessons, if you will. I should gain something from them as some of them caused great consternation at the time and I feel that I deserve something from them more than the sweat and tears they ca
